Welcome to the DF Grieve Collection Page!
This has always been one of my favorite miniatures lines. Mr. Grieve sculpted for some of the well known manufacturers of the 1970's until branching out on his in own in 1980. He specialized in British subjects and started out with a line of 65mm figures including two of my favorite ever mounted pieces - more on those later. We then started to produce a line of 100mm figures that were truly astounding and beautifully crafted.
Although not technically part of "DF Grieve" as a line per se, this page will include some of his other work as I admire most, if not of his sculpts. One of the kits I am working on at the time of this writing is the RealModels 110mm figure of Sgt. Major Goodman of the Scottish London Volunteers. An amazing (and amazingly heavy) piece that was alimited edition and pretty difficult to find. I'll post photos of that soon.
In the meantime, Below is an article I came across in Military Illustrated from October of 1991 written by Derek Hansen that gives a much better insight into the history of DF Grieve Models than I have been able to find, to date.
As with my other vintage pages, should you have information to share, please contact me and I will be happy to post it here.
